Abounding with wildlife, unfettered by the more rigorous strictures of the Kenyan National Parks and designed to offer a charming blend of under canvas ambiance and uncompromising luxury, it has long been the preferred retreat of wilderness and safari lovers alike. One of only four private game reserves in Kenya, Ol Pejeta Conservancy excels in the provision of privileged seclusion and private game viewing.
Thanks to its private status it also allows such unforgettable pleasures as the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary (the only place in Kenya to see these highly endangered animals), night game drives, guided bush walks and camel-trekking across game-teaming plains.
ROOM & SUITE TYPES:
Accommodation is provided in 39 luxuriously appointed tents . Each tent has a thatched roof, an ensuite bathroom and its own veranda with views over the waterhole. Full room service is provided.
FOOD & WINE:
The camp prides itself on the quality of its cuisine offering a 5-course "table d’hôte" dining experience every night, and a selection of African, Asian, and international dishes. The "Rhino Restaurant" is accommodated amidst the quaint charm of the main house, which was once the home of the Ranch Manager. Here open windows look out over stunning views and the traditional décor features soft sofas, traditional prints and splendid stone-built fireplaces.
The camp also offers a memorable selection of safari luncheons, bush dinners, campfire suppers and "sundowners" safari cocktails.
Waterhole bar; Raised on timbered poles this enchanted evening hideaway offers an uninterrupted view of the waterhole and its many wilderness visitors.
ACTIVITIES:
Because the Camp has its own private waterhole and saltlick, guests may enjoy unprecedented close encounters with the wildlife in the sanctuary of their natural habitat.
A trip to Ol Pejeta Conservancy would not be complete without a visit to the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya to see these endangered, yet highly intelligent animals.
Lion Tracking; Visitors are offered a unique opportunity to spend a morning with Ol Pejeta Conservancy’s predator research team. Visitors can join a dedicated team that has hands on experience with a tracking device to get close up to these amazing creatures.
