Nestling under the acacia and wild fig trees on the green western shores of Lake Naivasha, the present Loldia House was constructed by Italian prisoners of war from stone quarried on the farm. Built around a courtyard, its main archway frames a stunning view of the dormant volcano Mount Longonot.
Loldia House was established by a settler who came to Kenya by ox-wagon after the Boer War and is still owned by the same family today.
He was a renowned horseman who chose this beautiful corner of Kenya to enjoy all that was best in the early Kenyan Lifestyle.
Loldia House is ideally situated to visit the flamingo lakes of Nakuru, Elementaita and Bogoria, one of the great spectacles of Africa.
ROOM & SUITE TYPES:
Accommodation at the House, consists of 9 rooms (4 rooms at the House, 1 Cottage with 3 separate rooms and 1 Cottage with 2 separate rooms). In-room facilities include En-suite bathrooms with bath, shower, basin, flush toilet, hot and cold running water, one double room in the top cottage has an outside bathroom. Rooms are furnished in English style.
FOOD & WINE:
Loldia House offers the highest standards of cuisine and personalised service. The House Manager, Peter Njoroge, has been described in England's Country Life magazine as "probably the world's best butler". Dinners take place in the Dining Room which is decorated in colonial style.
ACTIVITIES:
Guests can participate in game drives and game walks on the ranch and night game drives. There is also horse riding and tennis on the ranch, Boat rides on Lake Naivasha to Crescent Island, bird watching opportunities and an 18 hole golf course nearby. There are also excursions with game drives and picnic breakfasts or lunch to Lake Nakuru National Park, Hell's Gate National Park, Lake Elementia or Lake Bogoria.
